Rooots

Roots is a student organization and media project that captures the “past” and “future” of APU students.

At our university, students from Japan and all around the world come together with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences. Roots aims to share each student’s journey and future through film.

Through interviews, we create short documentary videos that highlight the experiences, struggles, dreams, and thoughts of each individual. By combining filming, editing, planning, and social media storytelling, we shine a light on the personal stories that often go unseen.

Our goal is to inspire APU students, high school students, and even parents by introducing new perspectives, motivation, and ways of thinking.

Roots also creates connections between students, building a space where one person’s challenge, story, or way of life can encourage and empower someone else.
