“Turks” and “Slavs” – who are these? Why they are written next to each other? Where do they live and what do they eat? So many questions that we are going to answer during first-ever Turks and Slavs Week on our university campus in the 2026! Where the wide grasslands of Central Asia and the snow-covered forests of Eastern Europe — lands rich in history, culture, and vibrant traditions are standing together for centuries. 🏔️✨
The aim? To celebrate the diverse cultures of Turkic and Slavic peoples, while also highlighting the deep connections and similarities 🛖🪆. Despite differences in language and customs, there is so much that brings us together.
During the week, you can taste a variety of traditional authentic foods of the nomad Turks from the steppes and unque cuisine of the Slavs you neve tried before 🥟🍲. You are going to experience Traditional Turkic games, classic Soviet-era cartoons, and more and more during the week that this unviersity has never seen! Come discover, play, eat, and celebrate with us. We hope to spark your curiosity and build bridges across cultures.
