Hello everyone! We are the apu Competitive Karuta Club!
We operate with the aspirations of ‘helping more people understand Japanese culture through karuta’, ‘interacting with international students’, and ‘increasing the number of competitive players’.
Our guiding principle is to share the beauty of the Japanese language, including classical works, with as many people as possible.
We run activities that spread the appeal of the Hyakunin Isshu while allowing international students to experience the depth and fascination of Japanese together. Through karuta, we often rediscover the wonder of Japanese expressions and the resonance of its words, sparking a growing desire to learn more. We look forward to connecting with many more people through karuta in the future.
